| The USA: it’s a big place, and there’s a lot of ground for travelers to cover. So what’s buzzing for those lusting for adventure this year? It’s an annual tradition at Lonely Planet Travel Guides to try to answer that question, so the editors in the US office put their travel-noggins together to carve out a list of what’s new, interesting, and in some cases likely to be overlooked by travelers both domestic and international. "The U.S. Virgin Islands is our #1 choice for an American tropical getaway," the editors said. "It’s eternally 80 degrees, rimmed with white-sand beaches on turquoise water, and, yes, it’s a US territory," the magazine said in a year end roundup on its website. St. John is clearly the gem of the Islands, according to the travel guide editors. They recommend the national park and hikes to secluded beaches, as well as snorkeling and kayaking. Now, some might say that if your standard is to find an American tropical getaway, the competition isn't too intense. The USVIs did beat Culebra, Puerto Rico in the number five spot as well as Hawaii, the big island, which ranked eighth. | Three Moons Is Available for These Upcoming EVENTS!
