A "Magic Number" Day to Do Something Great!

If you are an enthusiastic food adventurer, paradise isn't just palm trees, turquoise waters and soft sand. Having fun to us means fresh, local ingredients, new flavors and cuisine that's prepared with an expert loving touch. This is what we search for whether traveling or checking out a new restaurant in our home town.

How do we create a menu of 62 inventive breakfasts, lunches, appetizers, starter courses, main courses, desserts for our guests during an 8 day, 7 night charter in a tiny galley that's only 6x3 feet? Two words: great organization!

When one has a small storage & workspace, it's quickly learned that the tools utilized need to be not only the best; but also few. It's taken years figure out that we only really need 3 high quality knives, a 5 piece stackable cookware set from Cristel, a good food processor & blender. Sure, there are a few "toys" tucked away in the galley junk drawer; but not as many as you might think. This knowledge has followed us even to our home stateside where we are still trying to figure out what to do with all those kitchen cabinets. Maybe those empty cherry cabinets could hold all my shoes? Joking!

Today, being 1/11/11, seems like a "magic number" day to try to live a better organized, uncluttered life. Why not pour yourself a nice glass of wine this evening & tackle that Tupperware drawer...you know it drives you nuts! Bag up everything and take it to a foodie friend. I guarantee that they'll be thrilled to pick up a few of your "castaways"!
